Board Member Highlight: Blair Bubenik
Blair Bubenik joined the Oregon Wildlife Foundation’s Board of Directors in 2018. While previously a donor, his enthusiasm for and contributions to our work have only grown over time. Blair (and wife, Peggy) are moral and philanthropic leaders for the Foundation and are frequently the first to raise a hand as a sponsor and contributor to our various fundraising events.
Blair moved to Oregon from Honolulu, Hawaii and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Blair spent a notable 38 years at Hoffman Construction Company before retiring from the company in 2022. Blair’s brother, Cary, currently works at Hoffman Construction and has, himself, become an advocate for the Foundation’s work within the company.
Oregon Wildlife Foundation is the grateful recipient of Blair’s support and the same from Cary and Hoffman Construction - our Clays for Conservation fundraising event lead sponsor in each of the past two years. This level of assistance wouldn’t have been possible without Blair’s leadership, Cary’s advocacy, and Hoffman’s generosity.
Blair and Peggy also support our other events including ‘Summer Soirée’ on August 25th at Butler Barn in Scholls. “I am always so appreciative of the prompt and generous participation of Blair and Peggy for all of our events, including this year’s Soirée. I can always count on their attendance, their introduction of friends to OWF and our work, and their continued support at all of our events,” said OWF Development Manager Rebecca Roberts.
Blair spends much of his recreational time outside in Oregon and enjoys fishing, especially on the Deschutes River. The Deschutes is a home away from home for Blair and, as his friend and fellow Board member Doug Nelson shared, ‘fishing pals of Blair can always count on him to be the first of the group to fall in the river.’
We are incredibly honored by and pleased for the leadership and support that Blair and Peggy Bubenik bring to the Foundation. We are so much better for their involvement and greatly appreciate their participation in our wildlife conservation work!
